The Bond-worthy ‘Olivia O’ by Ulstein Verft AS

 In Yachts

Envisioned and built by a Norwegian yard that is better known for commercial vessels, ferries and workboats, Ulstein’s Olivia O has been surrounded by mystery for a long time. But just a few days ago it has been spotted in Grand Harbour, Malta where her outfitting took place.

The 89m vessel was built in Norway at the Ulstein shipyard to a design by Espen Øino. It is the first time that Ulstein’s trademarked X-Bow with its striking reverse bow and explorer profile has appeared on a yacht. The design reduces pitching in heavy seas, while piercing smaller waves, and allowing comfort at faster speeds.

As she nears delivery, the 4,989 GT Olivia O will be one of the largest yachts in terms of volume in the 80-90 metre range. The top deck seems to sport a commercially-rated helicopter platform, the main deck a 10-metre swimming pool and there’s also a raised full-beam tender garage within.
