Driven by Braeden: Lamborghini Temerario
THE NEXT CHAPTER OF LAMBORGHINI HAS ARRIVED!
Before the Temerario had even covered its first kilometre, it was already creating a buzz. As soon as we announced its arrival at the dealership on social media, enthusiasts—and many Lamborghini owners—began stopping by the showroom to see it in the flesh. Replacing the Huracán was never going to be a quiet affair—and the Temerario proved that from day one.
I’ve been fortunate enough to drive many of Lamborghini’s current models, along with several of the predecessors. Each has its own personality, and every new model brings its own expectations. Replacing the Huracán was never going to be easy, particularly with the move away from the much-loved naturally aspirated V10. The specifications looked impressive, but numbers only tell part of the story. I was genuinely curious to discover how the Temerario would feel after several days behind the wheel in the real world … and the answer came quickly.
But let’s have a look at the specs. Rather than simply chasing bigger performance numbers, Lamborghini has created a car that’s astonishingly capable while remaining engaging and rewarding to drive. At its heart is an all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-plane-crank V8 that revs to an extraordinary 10,000 rpm. Working together with three electric motors, the hybrid powertrain produces a combined 920 CV (907 hp), launches from 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and continues on to a top speed of more than 340 km/h.
Those figures are impressive, but they don’t fully capture the experience.
To really get to know the Temerario, we drove it where owners in British Columbia are most likely to enjoy it: in the city, along the highway and even onto some of our favourite mountain roads. The result was a far more complete picture than any short test drive could provide.
In the city, the Temerario is surprisingly approachable. Visibility has improved, the cabin feels more spacious than before and the hybrid system delivers smooth, effortless progress in traffic. The new digital cockpit, with its configurable driver’s display, central touchscreen and passenger display, is modern without becoming distracting, while overall fit and finish feel like another step forward for the brand.
Out on the open road, however, the car reveals its true character.
The electric motors virtually eliminate turbo lag, giving the throttle an immediacy that’s both natural and addictive. Power builds relentlessly towards the remarkable 10,000-rpm redline, encouraging you to use every last rev. Through sweeping corners and tighter mountain bends, the all-wheel-drive system and electric torque vectoring provide exceptional grip and precision. Despite its immense performance, the Temerario feels balanced, confidence inspiring and surprisingly approachable, allowing you to enjoy its capabilities rather than merely respect them.
Of course, there are changes that longtime Lamborghini enthusiasts will notice: The glorious V10 soundtrack of the Huracán has made way for a new voice. The V8 delivers a deeper, more muscular soundtrack, accompanied by the occasional whistle from the turbochargers. It may not replicate the unmistakable character of its predecessor, but it develops a personality all its own—and one that suits the car remarkably well.
The styling follows a similar philosophy. It’s clean, purposeful and unmistakably Lamborghini without relying solely on dramatic excess. The signature hexagonal lighting, sculpted bodywork and aggressive rear diffuser ensure the Temerario still attracts attention everywhere it goes. Every stop seemed to spark conversations, with people eager to learn more about Lamborghini’s newest creation.
After several days behind the wheel, what impressed me most wasn’t simply the staggering performance. It was the breadth of the car’s abilities. In Strada mode it’s comfortable, refined and genuinely easy to live with. Select Sport or Corsa, and the Temerario transforms into the thrilling, razor-sharp supercar every enthusiast hopes for.
The Huracán will always hold a special place in Lamborghini history, and rightly so. The Temerario doesn’t try to replace its legend—it builds on it. Faster, more sophisticated and remarkably usable, it embraces new technology while preserving the excitement, theatre and emotion that define every Lamborghini.
